Stockroom is home to a library, a children’s creative learning space, a café bar and Stockport’s historical archives. Young people can learn new skills and benefit from cutting-edge learning and IT facilities. The creative events space, Stockroom Studios, will host a year-round programme of events, from yoga, toddler play, literature, music and even stand-up comedy.
Sharon Seville, Stockport Vice-President of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, attended the pre-launch event for Stockroom on Friday.
She said: "It’s transformed what was once a quiet and underused area into a vibrant place to gather for coffee, read a book, attend a yoga class, do a bit of work, go to a gig, grab a bite to eat with friends along with many other activities for all generations.
"It’s open seven days a week and offers free entry. Definitely one to capitalise on whilst you’re out and about locally. It was so great to see many familiar faces celebrating what has been a long time in the making. Stockport really does continue to be THE place to be!"
